Liberal

We are liberals. Our generation takes pride in calling ourselves liberals but unfortunately we have failed being one. We have failed on the very first step of realizing what does being liberal mean. We have created bars and conditions, stereotypes and myths, and hollow yet hyped definitions of being liberal. We forget what comes at sake with “our” version of being liberal. Freedom of speech, expression and action is the only aspect that young and lesser read minds consider, when asked about being a fit with the liberals. Unfortunately, the feelings of our loved ones are crushed in our struggle of being liberal. Self love becomes a tool of defense even in disloyal and untruthful situations. In the name of self love and privacy, we keep on crushing the intimacy we share with our people, not knowing the effects it has on their minds. It is high time we start taking theories not just for our own use but for the betterment of this society and complete mankind. Being liberal, I believe, asks us to step up from all types of discrimination, hatred and oppressing acts and thoughts. It is fighting for something that you feel right, for yourself, without hurting others and for the society that bring you up. It is a theory that strengthens you to fight for your people, and not against them.

Hope all the liberals sync with it, because this is just another youngster calling herself a liberal, and fighting for her definition of being a “Liberal”.
